Charles can purr......

And "Yammas"..... Hmm.... Well, as I heard it, it's something Greek. That you'd say after lifting your glass of fermented beverage at someone, but before knocking it back. I think of it as some sort of good luck or "Here's to you" sort of thing.

There's a cat in my hall of residence. He is a testy character though, and seems to view me as a doorman there to let him past fire doors etc. If I refuse he meows incredulously, and enlists a girl to let him in. (They always go gooey-eyed for him..."Oooh you little darling, etc..").

Dogs are friendlier methinks. They worship you with their sheer blind loyalty. Cats are a bit exploitative of humans.

Yes, and it comes with many rewards! I appreciate dogs too, they have their own qualities.

Thanks for providing a thread to post one of my favorite pieces of wisdom:

How old is your cat? How old was he when you got him?

And any pics? I'm a bit of a cat fancier myself, though I don't even have a cat.

Theodore's birthday is June 15th, back in -98, so he's about 19 months, still very playful and oh so kitten-ish!

He was 10 weeks when I got him, which is about the lowest allowed age. If they're younger they still have a strong connection to their mother which shouldn't be severed. I got him for my birthday in august -98 and it really was the surprise of a lifetime!
It felt very strange to have a cat in my apartment, I had a feeling someone would come and take him away again.

Later in the evening, when I had gone to bed and had put him in his little basket to sleep in, he climbed up in my bed (not without effort), stretched out and rolled up next to my chest. That's when I got hooked.

Pictures, eh? I could scan one in if you really want, so in a few days, with a little help.

My cat is ancient. 16 -- born on or very near my birthday, too (No one is certain).

Yes, yes. Pictures, now, Nimrod!

He was born in June, -98? Wouldn't that make him about two thousand, ninety-seven, and a half? :-)

Hmm... every attempt to photograph MY cat comes out with him sticking his tongue out at us, or making a wierd face at the camera. My cat is EVIL.
