Right... well, the last one went so well that I decided to start up a new poetry thread!!

So I guess I'll start .... this poem is one of my newest poems ...

Fallen

Am I such a fool
To fall for you again?
If I had a choice, perhaps
I wouldn't clutch your hand
So tightly,
But all you have to do
Is say "Hello"
And i'm yours.
Or don't say anything at all,
For just seeing you
Fuels my captured soul.
You've kidnapped me
And i've let you do it.
But I can't help it,
I turn to jelly in your presence,
Your eyes burn holes in my soul,
You hold me captive
With your gaze, your smile.
And I just can't help it,
I'm in love with you.

You actually expect people to post their own poetry here? Look at who they're up against.

I have five toes
on either foot
Five fingers
on each hand

Yet at the beach
they're much the same.
There's sand
which is in between them.

I'd like to recite something by one of my favorite kid poets...Shel Silverstein...

Lazy
Lazy
Lazy
Lazy
Lazy
Lazy
Lazy
Lazy
Lazy
Lazy
Jane...
She wants a drink, so she
waits
and waits
and waits
and waits
and waits
and waits
and waits
and waits
and waits
and waits
and waits
and waits
and waits
for it to rain.

Here's a medieval-style song that I wrote for one of my short stories. It's untitled in the story, but I think I'll title it "Song of the Blue Birds".

There was a Dragon of noble rank
Who loved an elven maid.
Everyday by the river bank
He met her in a glade.
The blue birds sing of this tale,
A tale of one joyful love.

The Dragon disguised as a warrior
Who always strove to win.
The maiden loved her warrior,
Oblivious of a Dragon within.
The blue birds sing of this tale,
A tale of one faithful love.

Finally the Dragon released
The truth beneath his faade.
Fearfully, she disbelieved
And accused him of a fraud.
The blue birds sing of this tale,
A tale of one woeful love.

Forevermore the maiden wept
For the return of her valiant knight.
Forevermore the Dragon kept
Waiting for his beloved sight.
The blue birds sing of this tale,
A tale of one eternal love.

I have two other worthy songs, but I'm not gonna give them away all at once, am I?

My Fried Fear

Fear is a friend
Of mind and walks
Beside me with
Long Earthcovering
Strides. From a
Far flickering light,
My friend casts
A shadow that
Mixes with mine.
They become one
On the wall;
The shadow moves
When I move;
Goes where I go.

Fear is a friend
Of mine; I think
I'll take him out
For a beer.

------------------
Mine is the sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament.

Amazingly new! Dazzlingly fresh! Wintergreen!

I just wrote this a few hours ago. It isn't really done yet. Or maybe it is. The first line is borrowed from an exercise.

Pomegranates don't grow on trees, but
Men do. Their fruit is malignant, twisting
Picked at by gruesome shadows
Whose collective nature forms a shroud
Buzzing and boiling
It hides their face, terrible
And haunting. But the shape remains

This one is for J&S. And if you know me then you know what i'm talking about...

"Nothing Left At All"

I can see it coming a mile away
What you did behind the bushes today
You can lie to me till the sky will crack
You think youre so smart but you come running back

Dont look for absolution from me
Dont seek forgiveness from me
Theres nothing left at all for you to say
Ill be happier when im far from you someday

Dont try to threaten me with your ways
Your threats are nothing but a drunken maliase
You can promise me youll give it up
But I know its all a lie when you sneak it in your cup

You can beg and plead all you want
You can cry and feel sorry but just dont...
Dont expect me to stick around
Just to watch you hit the ground

Dont look for sympathy from me
Dont seek pathetic hopes from me
Theres nothing left at all for you to say
Ill be happier when im far and away
Youre too happy when youre in a daze
Youre too sick to wanna change your ways
Theres nothing left at all for you to say
Ill be happier when im far and away

Goodnight my love...the brightest star in my sky...

Goodnight...you have been my sky, my sun and my moon...

and the NAIL
And the BONE
and the TISS-UE bacetire bacterie oo la la rouge...

And when all your remaining joy
hides unnoticed
in one, shrivelled cell
at the bog bottom of the very

This poem is dedicated to ....

well, Someone you all know very well. *GRIN*
(sorry, that's all I'm allowed to say )

To my ashk'e, with love....

I love the way you love me

I love the way you hold me
in your arms so gently,
As if I were so fragile,
You could break me
With your strong embrace.

I love the way you touch me
Softly with your hands,
As if I were a work of art,
You want to memorize
With your touch.

I love the way your lips
Kiss me so tenderly,
As if you'll drown me with your passion,
If you don't hold it at bay.

I love the way your eyes
Enthrall me and invade my inner soul,
As if you want to burn my face,
Into your memory.

I love the way your voice
Can soothe my resltess soul,
I love the way you make me feel,
Your half that makes me whole.

I love the way you love me.

*goes to bounce off the walls and be happy now*
