Computer crashed. No Internet. Withdrawal symptoms. Had to use s-l-o-w connection at library, watched by busy-bodies, and under the stop-watch.

I feel for you man. I was on a trip a couple months ago and I didn't have my fast cable connection for 3 weeks! And the computer I was on was a relic! I think it had a pentium 133 or something. And it was supposed to be used by like 30 people all this time. Talk about pain! I am trying to stay away from that trip for as long as I can.

Once you do cable, DSL, or direct connect, you never want to go back. Downloading a 5 MB file in 30 seconds really opens your eyes to how slow modems are.

Fruity, you have a point. And believe me, if I could afford it, I'd have it. But then I'm not a very heavy net user, so the cost is not justified.
