I believe the point is that it doesn't make sense to make a comedy movie into a drama TV show...

Then rather tham blaming the actual product, you're blaming it's conception? He, I could get a "you hate babies that were fertalised unnaturally! And you probably hate little puppies too!". It would be a week argument.
I'm trying to think of a serious show that's been made into a funny movie. Does ST IV count?
Actually, what about Batman, who manages to go from extremely camp, to dark and mysterious, to loud crap and nipplely quite easily?

And I think what Fabrux meant was that since the buffy-movie was a comedy it shouldn't be judged as hard as, say, "mission to mars", in terms of scifi. (skiffy?)

The Buffy movie sucked bigtime! The pilot of the series would have done much better on the big screen.
Buffy the series rocks! It is definatly one of my all time favourite series. Angel could have been beter, but I hope we'll see that happen next season.
BTW: I missed one in my line-up: Charmed.
BTW2: My friend have brought me into the Vampire mood, by means of the 'Vampire: the Masquerade' RPG. Pitty that the PC game isn't all that good though.

Hey didn't the movie have Luke Perry? He's so dreamy...

I echo these sentiments. Such words cannot be used on a sci-fi UBB without the suggestion that we have a *ahem* female among us.
Lets not have the Flare version of Squiggles. Please, lets not.

Actually, believe it or not, we do have members of the fairer gender around here somewhere. They tend to huddle quietly in the corner most of the time, but, every once in a while, one of them will pop up and say something.
Yes, I know it's unfathomable, but I'm afraid it's so... :-)

Yeah, we have, what, three? Jubes, MaGiC, and Liz (mmmmm... Liz) are all I can think of. There used to be Jedi Weyoun and Dani, but I think they left. And MaGiC hasn't posted in a while.
