My boss wants me to come up with a list of general-reference websites that might help kids look up stuff for homework assignments.

By Thursday.

Any ideas, stuff you (or little bro or sis, or kids in some of your cases) use?

refdesk.com has a lot of links to reference material. Unfortunately, it sometimes hard to find exactly what you're looking for. Once you're within a category, there's really nothing to distinguish the links...

The best search engine I've ever used was www.dogpile.com

"Solipsism, like other absurdities of the professional philosopher, is a product of too much time wasted in library stacks between the covers of a book, in smoke-filled coffeehouses (bad for the brains) and conversation-clogged seminars. To refute the solipsist or the metaphysical idealist all that you have to do is take him out and throw a rock at his head: if he ducks he's a liar."

And I thought you were asking for sites which have ready-made homework finished and ready for them.

Tsk. When I ask for help, you lot fumble about like headless chickens. When First needs help, you all kill each other to help him.

That's it. From now on, I'm foregoing trousers.

Don't panic.
The old lad's a mechanic.

Wouldn't worry about it, Liam.

Your question was better than his anyway.

www.howstuffworks.com might be worth a look for some general stuff. Can't think of any others at the moment.
