On a vaguely related note, I take it the special rerelease of TMP is not going to be today? At least, I can't seem to find anything about it.

Maybe they meant July? I do know they were supposedly re-releasing it but I'd heard April, so who knows.

Star Trek: The Motion Picture Special Edition WAS supposed to be released 1-7-01, but Foundation Imaging needed more time for all the shots, so it's been pushed back.

Wasn't that TJ Hooker's callsign? Or am I thinking of CHiPs?

Isn't it the 9th by now for the Kiwi's and still the 7th for whoever's last in the list of world times?

It can't be the 9th and the 7th at the same time at two points in the world. That's crazy talk.

Well, not exactly. You see, if the clocks were off by a few minutes, it could be turning over to the 9th in one place, and in another place 24hrs way it could be approaching the turn over to the 8th, so it would effectively be the 9th and 7th at the same time.

I'm not exactly sure how it all works, but aren't Tonga and Kiribati in a time zone such that they hit the new day an hour earlier than the other places just west of the date line? So maybe it can be three different days at once...

I think you might be right. Aren't those the places where they celebrated the "Millenium" first?
