"...[They've] been so completely dumbed down by the media, by tabloid scumbags, by the Christian "right", by politicians in general, the school, parents who are dumber than their parents were, who are dumber than their parents were, and all of whom think that they can bring up a child just because they got down in bed and had a little sex...well, frankly, here is an audience that knows more and more about less and less as the years go by...We are talking about a constituency...that knows nothing. This is pandemic; terrifyingly, paralyzingly pandemic. They know absolutely nothing."

That's so weird... Some friends of mine were just talking about this tonight.

I didn't realize it would be quite so damned funny, though... *LMAO*

Is Zerowing popular as a comic-book?

Fascinating stuff that.

Nimrod: It's an intro to a game on the snes. Funny, actually, I played it recently on a snes emulator. Can't remember exactly what type of game it is, something like Super R Type, or a vertical space shooter.

Maybe a direct translation from the original Japanese?

Was the speech on the original SNES game or added later?

Yes, the dialogue text was on the original snes version exactly as you saw it.

Then either the voice-"artists" were pissed, or they were having a big laugh on us all. And they suceeded. Damn their hides.

Either that, or the entire thing was made in Japan, and no-one ever consulted an actual speaker of the English language... :-)

Actually, if you read the actual website...it turns out that while the text and graphics are from the actual game, the voices were dubbed later to increase the effect.

I quote, "I thought to myself: Hey, wouldn't it kick bleem! to go back and DUB the voices for a particularly BAD Game intro? That way we could hear and SEE the language impediment at work! Fabulous! . . . but which game? And who would provide the voices? Well, readers, I'm proud to say that those decisions were finally made, and today's special release of the ZEROWING Introduction Cinema is dubbed by none other than WAYNE NEWTON!!!"

Pity that its not authentic...but its still funny as hell
