Aye-yi-yi.

An author of an upcoming 'Star Trek: Starfleet Corps of Engineers' novel is auctioneeing off a character in the book ... that's right, win the bid, and you can be immortalized in a 'Trek' novel (oh, goody).

This is ... uh ...

Still, at least he's giving the money to a good cause.
