Oh, fine, be picky. One of the fastest, I should say. And people go real slow around them, because, hey, they think yer' a cop [Smile]

Huge engine, little power. That might be a V8 under the bonnet, but I doubt the thing will do more than 120 - in a push. They also suck up gasoline like there's no tomorrow (and you don't even get that old-style "muscle car" sound).

No, if you want a car that'll impress others and actually turn a few heads (the CV looks like a coffin to me), get one of these instead.

If you want get one of the fastest cars in the world which nobody will notice until you overtake them at 330 kph then get the BRABUS EV12.
It looks like the Mercedes E-Class from the outside but it's a hell of a machine inside.

And still fitted with all the luxury you expect from a Mercedes.

It's my absolute fave.

Ack! Cop car.

I can't believe you want one of those things.

I'm slightly annoyed at Hobbes' rather rude decision to be much more attractive than me though. That's just rude. - PsyLiam, Oct 27, 2005.

Just about 95 or 96 my company van broke down and I had to rent a car for a couple of weeks. I was told to rent a midsize car. I got to the reantal agent we deal with and they said they had no midsize and then I was given my choice of an Escort or the Crown Vic. She said that the CV was $5 more a day, well as my boss likes to pay more for this kind of stuff I went with the CV. Wonderful ride, terrible gas mileage, pretty fast but I imagine the police specials will be even faster. This car was great on the highway, if you do a lot of highway driving, go for it, you will thank yourself.

Ford Crown Victoria Interceptor Special, eh? We don't need no stinking Crown Vic. I got you beat...

Now, for those of you who don't know, the Ford Crown Victoria is also sold as the Mercury Grand Marquis, although the Grand Marquis is NEVER used by government officials (good fact to know in case you suspect a car is an unmarked police car). The Grand Marquis is practically identical to the Crown Victoria, except you get more luxury on the Grand Marquis.

Now, the Crown Victoria also has another car it is identical to. And this one will outperform even your Police Interceptor.

2003 Mercury Marauder.

Basically built with the same body as the Grand Marquis, this is something better. Featuring a 335hp supercharged version of the standard V8, the Marauder has ZR-rated high performance tires (ZR is the highest classification for a performance tire) on 18 inch aluminium wheels. You have your color choices of black, black, black, and black...

And that's not all, a concept version of the Marauder was unveiled just last week at the 2002 Chicago Auto Show. This concept is a 2-door convertible design for the new Marauder, but unfortunatly it is NOT coming to production.

INCORRECT!

I know for a fact that at least the U.S. Secret Service uses unmarked Grand Marquis. How do I know this? When I lived at home, my neighbor, a Secret Service agent, drove an unmarked Grand Marquis.

I was thinking about buying a Marauder ... but I probably won't. I heard its going to start at $34k. Bit high.

Was the Grand Marquis supplied by the government though? I mean, some cops use their own personal cars as unmarked cars.

It was a government car, The359 -- complete with tags, and siren, and bulletproof glass and solid core tires.

Looks like a pretty good deal to me, Snay. Do you get to test drive it?

Er, no, I decided not to buy it. I tried to get my friend Alborz to let me drive his unit, but he could get fired for it ...
