Tonight is the night my local TV station will be broadcasting the Simpsons ep where the family goes to Toronto. Hopefully, this will dispel the myth among Americans that:
we live in Igloos and the capital of Canada is Igloo City.
we are all Lumberjacks and Curlers.
it is always winter 365 days a year in Canada and all Canadians have to wear a parka.
Canada is full of moose.
Mounties are wimps.
Etcetera.
I'm setting my VCR tonight.

I didn't think anyone thought any of that about Toronto, but, if anything would "dispel" such a myth, I wouldn't expect it to be "The Simpsons".

That's the CBC, and I think the only way to get on that channel is to be the son of one of the original cast members from Degrassi High. Or American.

Heh heh heh. A very funny episode of the Simpsons. Let's see: -Homer amazes a Canadian with a $1 bill. -Hockey players are all over Canada. -Paramountie Studios -"Canadian Grafitti." He's writing "Obey the Laws" on the wall.

From the fact that Tahna thought that the Simpsons would provide an honest and accurate depiction of Canada, I'm now wondering what he thinks of Japan, Australia, France, the Great Britain of the future, and Shelbyville.
-------------------- Yes, you're despicable, and... and picable... and... and you're definitely, definitely despicable. How a person can get so despicable in one lifetime is beyond me. It isn't as though I haven't met a lot of people. Goodness knows it isn't that. It isn't just that... it isn't... it's... it's despicable.
