This had to have been the funniest ending to a race in Olympic history, the look on this guy's face at the end of the race was priceless.

They already named something like that. It's called 'Doing a Homer'.

I forget what episode that was in...

It was when Homer saved the Nuclear Plant by accident (eeny-meeny-miny mo with the buttons). Great episode.

Great race too, too bad the Australian didn't fall also. I mean, its great he won and all, but it would have been pretty damn funny if all five of them fell. Right before the finish line.

A great race. Of course, the American guy was extremely lucky he didn't get the DQ as well.

Well, Canada won third. Though I am slightly peeved that all the male Speed Skaters screwed up royally by either wiping out or getting DQed.

I tell you, you Americans are REALLY bad sports - read this quote from elsewhere on that sight - sounds like 'sour grapes' to me.

quote:
The chief referee makes the decision. He can review a video and replay.
(South Korean) Ahn Hyun-Soo clearly fell (and caused the crash) yet he was
not disqualified," said NBC commentator Eric Flaim, a former US speed
skater.

"The skaters who were fouled had no remedy. it doesn't seem right for the
sport. The only remedy is to re-run the race and give a chance for Ohno to win
the gold."

"re-run the race and give a chance for Ohno to win the gold" I mean come on - it's the name of the game - It's not just a flat out RACE it's also TACTICS - that quote, to me sounded like - Ohno should have won - so just let them re-race it until he does! Ha!

I think it's HILARIOUS! And the Australian skater - from my city Brisbane - was a classic - it's like fuck I think I've won! LOL! Congratulations mate.

I just heard on the news that we've got our SECOND gold medal ever - in the ski-jump aerial acrobatics or what ever... the poor girl who was a favourite totally busted open her knee the other day training, but the other Australian girl won! WOOHOO! Well done!

Ohhhh the end of my last post sounded a bit mean... the girl who busted her knee in training was ALSO an Australian girl.

Do you know how some of them train for the aerial jump thingy here in the Summer months... they have this 'jump' that is like plastic connected links or balls down the side of a hill and onto the ramp and they jump into the water! Crazy - but I guess it works!
