Although I didn't see it happen, here's a funny little incident that occured where I live:
From IMDb:
quote: Governor Calls TV Reporter A Dumb S.O.B.
After being pelted on TV with questions about state budget cuts Tuesday, Wisconsin Governor Scott McCallum, thinking he was off the air, called Milwaukee TV reporter Matt Barrie a "dumb son of a bitch." His words were carried live throughout the state and were picked up by cameras from other TV stations in the state. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel on Wednesday quoted WJFW-TV reporter Matt Barrie as saying, "I was shocked. It was one of those things where you know what you just heard but you are in shock. ... To have the state's top official call me a 'dumb son of a bitch' just because of a line of questioning -- I was offended." Gov. McCallum later called Barrie and remarked, "Okay, okay, so you got me frustrated. I'm sorry, Matt. ... By the way you know I didn't know I was on TV so I apologize. It's not directed at you."

Hmm... so apparently my governor isn't the only one who thinks that anyone outside the government is a moron, and has no business knowing what's going on. Good to know, in a misery-loves-comapny sort of way.
