Well, that's certainly old news. What took CNN so long to pick up on it?

its really interesting reading about microsoft spokespeople flat out lying. i understand theyve built windows so that internet explorer is inextricably entwined with the program so that it cant be removed, but them claiming that other programs that come with windows are 'indispensible' is bullshit, and removing shit like Windows Media would actually enhance my functionality.

Er, how?

"It's taking up 1.5 GB of my drive..."

Which works out to what? $4 worth?

Yes, you're despicable, and... and picable... and... and you're definitely, definitely despicable. How a person can get so despicable in one lifetime is beyond me. It isn't as though I haven't met a lot of people. Goodness knows it isn't that. It isn't just that... it isn't... it's... it's despicable.

actually, if you take the standard (which is currently a 40 gigabyte 2 platter 7200 rpm hard drive for about $80) it is about $3 worth of hard drive space that windows is taking up (at least on his system, on mine XP pro is about 1GB). if you went with a slower drive, or a larger capacity drive, it would be even cheaper (slow drives are cheap, and large drives are cheaper per gb than smaller ones). bon apetit.
