Pranks are good anytime of the year, not just on April Fool's Day. Just like giving, playing pranks is a year-round ideal.
My favorite prank is the classic Windows joke. You snap a shot of your friend's desktop and set it as the background image. Then you drag all of their icons off-screen and hide the taskbar. Then you watch the fun begin. That trick really drove my sister nuts.

I once did one where I slightly modified the spelling of the desktop icons - "Microsoft Otfice" was the only one that I can remember now - and waited to see how long they noticed. 8)

Its been done to every computer of my school comp lab.. 'Internut Exploder' and 'Microsoft Orifice' have been on every desktop for four days now, without any of the the monitors or techs noticing (i didnt actually notice til yesterday, but im assuming that since they went through the trouble of the organized one at a time computer effort, it was an april fool's)
