I ran across a rather hilarious rant this evening. I didn't read the actual article, but it's apparently written from an ultra-ultra-conservative viewpoint.
quote:"However, these propagandists aren't just targeting the young. Take for example Apple Computers, makers of the popular Macintosh line of computers. The real operating system hiding under the newest version of the Macintosh operating system (MacOS X) is called... Darwin! That's right, new Macs are based on Darwinism! While they currently don't advertise this fact to consumers, it is well known among the computer elite, who are mostly Atheists and Pagans. Furthermore, the Darwin OS is released under an 'Open Source' license, which is just another name for Communism. They try to hide all of this under a facade of shiny, 'lickable' buttons, but the truth has finally come out: Apple Computers promote Godless Darwinism and Communism."
It amazes me that people as ignorant as this can still exist in today's world...

This popped up on Memepool today, and I strongly suspect anyone even aware of Open Source as a movement is beyond the realm of your typical Christian Fundamentalist.

So then I suppose Microsoft is a mix of rabid scientologists and hardcore imperialists? Much more acceptable in the US, then, as opposed to godlessness and communism.
Me, I like Nvidia. They penetrate both the OS-mistresses with their products, taking them closer to eachother. Kind of a threesome.
My girlfriend's hair smells of roses and newly-washed pillow.

Probably was written by a person making fun of the viewpoint... or a Microsoft user... some of them can be as rabid as any Fundie or Enterprise-doomsayer.

Yes, since I am a devoted (by necessity) Microsoft user.. but I'd still pay real money to feel Bill Gates' eye socket shatter against the relentless pummelling of my enraged knuckles...

-------------------- Yes, you're despicable, and... and picable... and... and you're definitely, definitely despicable. How a person can get so despicable in one lifetime is beyond me. It isn't as though I haven't met a lot of people. Goodness knows it isn't that. It isn't just that... it isn't... it's... it's despicable.

My long running theory about him programming Solitaire and FreeCell to cheat, of course...
