Anybody ever see it? What'd you think?

I'd offer my own opinion, but I'm in dire need of a shower, so it will have to wait.

best movie ever. it managed to retain a lot of details of a love story and good acting that made it a great film, despite the fact that it was a very large collection of genre quotes and references strung together.

i strive to be like those guys since i saw it, and am succeeding

Well, I think they made the two protagonists a little bit too cool. "Yeah, like, I'm a Trekkie nerd, but I've still got the girlfriend who mostly appears in those crummy softcore erotic thrillers."

its all about state of mind... when i saw that movie, i decried its portrayal of nerds as unrealistic.. they were partying womanizers that i never could pull off being..

but a couple of years later, of worshipping that pinnacle, i have become them. i quote trek more often than make my own original statements, i have friends, hang out at trendy bars talking scifi, i have hot girlfriends who are totally into me without me really caring.. just believe it and make it possible. its about the self confidence.

ok, the fact that i lost a lot of weight and stopped dressing like a geek helps too.

The most lasting effect the Free Enterprise had on my life is that, when Tim and I would talk about going to buy toys, we wouldn't say 'let's go to Toys R Us'.. instead we follow the Free Ent boys lead and say 'let's go to TRU'.. that probably helped with the girls a lot, that i no longer mention that i go to toy stores openly.

Not openly, no. He dresses up like a Jedi knight, to blend in with the crowd. [Smile]

Actually, Mike, when I saw it, I kept thinking of you. From the looks of your posts, it seems that your life would actually make for an interesting movie.

heh.. that'd be a good one.. especially since i once wrote a whole essay on how the main protagonists characters in 'Free Enterprise' were a recombination of elements from my own life... of course, a year ago, my life didnt resemble the movie that much.. i was completly unsuccessful with women, was reclusive and a little sketchy in the socializing department, and over the top at work when it came to making sense since nobody seems to understand my sense of humor...

nowadays i have two (or three if you count long distance things) girlfriends that i have no idea what to do with, a large crowd of people willing to follow me wherever i lead, because they think im cool and funny and the best collection of sci-fi knowledge and junk in the world. and it doesnt seem a lot like me at all, but i run with it.

the whole Michelle/Asia/Jenn thing has cinematic qualities too, especially with the whole police/forbidden love aspect. all three of them came to visit me at work.. at different times thankfully.. and ive gotten hollered at at both my jobs for getting passionately kissed in full view of customers twice in the past two weeks.. by two different girls at two different jobs..

i need to learn how to juggle..

the only thing that would complete it would be me meeting William Shatner, whom like the movie heroes, i worship

Wait, I don't know if you've mentioned it at all before ever, but were you unsuccessful with women a year ago, but now are very cool and have lots of women love? And have lots of friends now? And are stringently cool?

I'm just asking because I don't think you've ever mentioned that before.
