Her column had lighthearted moments, though. Few topics excited readers more than the question of which direction the toilet paper should be hung in.

And they wonder why so many kids can't read nowadays.

In other news: I think Fred picked her for his Dead Pool this year. He should make a bundle off of Howie.

The feisty, outspoken Landers was a housewife when she won the Sun-Times contest to become the second Ann Landers after the woman who created the column died.
So, its kinda probable that they might have a third Ann Landers....telling us how to hang our toilet paper.

The concept of an immortal Ann Landers is bothersome. When did the column become a Zorro movie?

Timothy Dalton has signed on to be the next Anne Landers, saying that he's hoping to be able to bring some grittiness to the role.

Also, "At the end of her career, she was a with-it great-grandmother whose name often appeared on lists of the country's most influential women."

Ah, but not really her name. Because Anne Landers isn't really Anne Landers. I don't remember seeing Esther Lederer on any damn lists. I don't understand this people forgery.

She didn't have it. She was just with it. It kept telling her to piss off and get a life of her own, but she just kept hanging around it, anyway.

Of course, Pierce Brosnan was supposed to become the next Anne Landers, but the publicity generated from that announcement convinced MGM/EON he is still bankable as James Bond, and they forced him to sign on for James Bond 21 [Big Grin] .
