Megadeep: I want to destroy all life in this and any other solar system. I am building a fleet of Saberhagen Berserker Warships to that end.

Incidentally, cuckoos deliberately lay their eggs in other birds' nests, and the cuckoo young then deliberately kill the other birds' offspring, thus ensuring that the cuckoo gets all the food mommy bird brings home. They're evil.

Let's use the beavers as an example. There's a small pond near my neighborhood along the roadway, where some beavers build a dam at the mouth of a culvert under the road. The water has been backed up (levels rose at least a foot, maybe more [30+ centimeters for you wacky non-Americans [Wink] ]) for probably five years now. And all of the trees that line the pond at the former waterline are now dead. You can still see some old bird nests in the crowns of those dead trees. Not to mention that the pond has also become murky because of all the collecting dirt and sediment.

How destructive is that? [Razz]

A little beaver is a pretty good thing, if you ask me. Even if it is an irritant from time to time.
