This was my first time voting, and I was pleased not to have to bother with anything remotely like butterfly ballots. It was all electronic voting -- very straightforward.
I went to the polling place with my parents early (7:15 this morning) but the place was already fairly busy (by my non-expert eye, anyway).
Aside from the results this evening, I'm most interested in finding out some of the statistics on voter turnout.
I trust that all of my fellow eligible citizens are planning to get out today?

I think he means the United States election.
I did the deed as well. I got this morning and made it to the polling location at about 8:30 a.m. The rain has finally stopped, so I just walked there (seeing as how it's only a couple blocks away).
Harris County has electronic voting machines, too. I think we're the largest county to completely switch over to them. I think it was pretty neat and easy to use. Plus, our election judges were very helpful. I guess they had to take a lot of training on the eSlates.
I was in and out in thirty minutes. Plus, I was the 84th person to vote in my preceint today. The election clerk I was talking to said it had been a steady stream of people this morning.
There were some people across the street from the church doing last minute campaigning. There was a Democrat, two Republicans, and a Libertarian. I talked to them for a bit before walking back home. Really nice people they were.

I didn't vote here last year & I won't do it again this year. why? Becasue Pennsylvania races mean nothing to me. If I could still get the ones back home, I would.

Done. About 12:20 this AM. Hate Rendell. Don't wanna send any more of my tax money to support Philly. The mayors of that city have run it into the ground for the last 40-odd years.

I didn't vote either. Don't care about politics, especially PA ones. I don't plan to be staying in this state for many years anyway.

Robert Redford made an ad for a Rep candidate, for U.S. Senate I think.... That got me to vote for him, Mr. Redford was his spokeman, so that clinched it...
NOT!!!!
I've got 3 hours to get there and vote....
So, without flaming.... In 250 words or less I'll give someone a chance to convince me to vote a straight ticket, otherwise I am voting my typical independent way...

I voted. At about 3 this afternoon...at the local catholic school. And then classes let out while I was inside...I couldn't leave for like 30 minutes after due to the small traffic jam.
But, I did vote.

There is never a reason to vote straight ticket in the USA. No one party has that many good candidates. Most of the people I voted for yesterday, lost. West Virginia has gone repulican for the first time I can remember. Even when Regan was elected, WV went mostly democrat. I voted for some of each.
Shelly Capito, George Bush's new darling, won going away from Jim Humphries. More money was spent on this race then any other congresional race in history. The same to people were second place last year. Jim spent about 5 million of his own money. Shelly started raising money early last year, and with the national party kicking in, she had about 2 milloin to spend. I voted for Shelly mostly because Jim is an greedy no good wanker git. Shelly has shown me that she will think for herself, and not always vote the party line. I like that, even if she votes against what I would have her votre many times, at least she is willing to think about it. Jim is just a greedy no good wanker git, or have I mentioned that already.
