The moon is a possible sort of rocket fuels - but it has yet to be verified (as far as I've heard) that there is a practical process for extracting them.
Comets and similiar "slushballs" would likely be a better source as they have water, methane, etc. and could be used as fueling stations and jump off points to the outer system.
Brin and Benford's book "Heart of the Comet" discusses such and is a good read.
