But I'm not normally red! I am whiter than the holiest set of angel PJ's.

(Er, that's angel as in God's work doing thing. Not as in Buffy's ex, for he would wear PJ's as black as the darkest night.)

Yes, you're despicable, and... and picable... and... and you're definitely, definitely despicable. How a person can get so despicable in one lifetime is beyond me. It isn't as though I haven't met a lot of people. Goodness knows it isn't that. It isn't just that... it isn't... it's... it's despicable.

That's the classic UK-genome right there. My irish cousins also react like that, they usually carry Sun block Factor 30 all through the summer.

But since you guys have a higher percentage of people with Type 1 or 2 skin (out of 5), you respect the sun more and take care of yourselves.

We swedes are very sunhungry and reckless, which is why we have a much higher percentage of skin cancer here.
That stupid, vain and dangerous invention called "solarium" isn't helping either.

They have a pill for it now, though. Pigmentation increase. Will hit the market any year now.

I'm one quarter Irish, and I've just found out that I've also got unknown quantities of German and French in me (ooh er). But yeah, I'm pale, freckly, and don't tan. I'm just counting my blessings that I'm not ginger.

Cartmaniac: "Any, uh, side-effects we should know about?"

You grow a third nipple, but that's about it.

No seriously, it's called Melanotan and has been coined the "Barbie Pill", I read about it two months ago, in a swedish science mag.
They were pretty worked up about it, it's supposed to increase your sex drive, increase pigmentation and supress hunger impulses somewhat, so you get a slender waist.

Quote:
"The molecule turns out to activate five different chemical systems throughout the body.
It's a potent anti-inflammatory, and in 1996 further tests of the drug showed that it also promotes sexual arousal.
Not simple vascular stimulation, as with Viagra, but a direct action in the hypothalamus, the brain's emotional switchboard.
Impotence is largely an organic, mechanical problem, but here was something that could potentially address the murkier issues of frigidity,
and even that old-time marriage killer: simple lack of enthusiasm. (On Melanotan, female lab rodents triple their levels of courtship behavior.)
And as if that weren't enough, the molecule also targets an appetite-suppression receptor popular with the makers of weight-loss drugs."

But not like Tim. Because, while horny, he is a big fatso. And a hippy.
