I was wondering if anyone would be able to do a quick favor for me...
I'm trying to set up a "favicon.ico" image for browsers on my website. The problem is, that my image isn't a square, and so there's empty space around the edges. It looks fine in the location field itself (which has a white background on most browsers), but in the toolbar it looks pretty gaudy. (At least on mine -- I dunno if anyone else is interested enough to put *my* site in their toolbar! )
I'd edit the file myself, but none of the image editors I own can save files in the ICO format. And the one that I don't have but "borrowed" for a little while doesn't have any obvious way to create a transparent ICO image -- not that I've been able to figure out, anyway.
Would someone who's got a bit more experience with that image format be so kind as to remove the white coloring around the edges of my icon for me?
