I used to be a pretty good model-builder (I still am, to an extent). I built most of the AMT model kits out there, and for many years I've had them displayed around the room.

Unfortunately, I'm going to be moving out of the house some time in the next year or so, and I know for a fact that I'm not going to have enough shelf space for all those fine displays.

I've been spending much of the day cleaning out parts of the room to move back, and I realized that I probably need to get rid of them. (Boxing them up doesn't seem too meaningful, because I know I'll probably never take them out again...)

So, I thought that someone around here might be interested in some or all of them. I've got:
  • AMT Excelsior (1:1000)
  • AMT Enterprise-B (1:1000)
  • AMT Cardassian Galor (???)
  • AMT Runabout Rio Grande (1:72)
  • AMT Enterprise-A (1:537)
  • AMT Enterprise-D (1:1400)
The last two items need some additional explanation:

As most modellers know, the AMT Enterprise-A is a complete piece of shit in terms of assembling the model. After seeing how horrible it looked when I was done assembling it, I took my dad's soldering iron to it to create battle damage (sort of like the end of "The Undiscovered Country," though not exactly matching the appearance in the film). Since then, the glue apparently weakened and it's started to come apart at a couple of seams because of the horribly mis-distributed weight. All pieces are intact, but a nacelle and pylon are detached, the base has come off.

I also made a halfhearted attempt to paint the Enterprise-D about eight or nine years ago. I received the fiber-optic kit from my grandparents. Both the inner and outer base coats are applied (in what could probably be considered the base color), and I started to drill some of the holes for windows... before the tiny drill bit broke. I never got any more done. It's in fairly good condition, I think -- there's nothing broken or missing aside from the drill bit. The decals are still in there, too. I'm pretty sure it can still be made into a pretty good-looking model; I just don't have the time (or the interest) anymore.

Is anyone interested? I thought I'd ask around here first. Everything's negotiable, as a whole set or individually, and I'm willing to ship anywhere. [Smile]

(PS: I just realized that this could probably be considered spam... but since I'm a long-time member and this isn't an everyday thing -- and I'm not selling generic Viagra -- I hope this is acceptable.) [Razz]

I'd love a shot at the Galor class.
Although it's not my chosen scale of 2500th I can (possibly!) build her into a Hutet class battleship from the Dominion Wars computer game. [Big Grin]
Shoot me a PM and we'll work it out!
I could use the excelsior too....

Although Jeff (Griffworks) can really make use of the Enterprise A model: He's done some great things with those on his website. [Wink]

IMPORTANT CLARIFICATION: All of these models have been fully assembled and painted, with the exception of the Enterprise-D (which I explained). I built them all at various points between about four and nine years ago, and decided that they're not really worth the shelf space any longer.

Sorry for any confusion. [Smile]
