You think WE'VE got it bad with all these sunspots? Check out this poor star, which has about half of its visible surface covered in a single gigantic sunspot!

Actually, a quick search reveals that this star is just a G5-type star similar to Sol itself. In that image, it's just that Sol has been thumbnailed for comparison, is all. [Wink]

Tuesday's flare went off the scale, researchers say it was "well above X20".

This would make it the most powerful ever recorded, surpassing the X20 flares of 2 April 2001 and 16 August 1989.

Ouch!

So, when we're all debating Trek in hell, we can say "ahhhh....it's so refreshingly cool here"?

"cool" is pretty much never an adjective to associate with debating Trek.

So let's move on - more appropriately - to Red Dwarf....

The movie is going to be terrible, isn't it?

--------------------
Yes, you're despicable, and... and picable... and... and you're definitely, definitely despicable. How a person can get so despicable in one lifetime is beyond me. It isn't as though I haven't met a lot of people. Goodness knows it isn't that. It isn't just that... it isn't... it's... it's despicable.

How should I know? I haven't seen anything about it yet. And I think I am not the only one there.
;-)

Anyway, if they are really going to use the CGI RD then I for one will not watch the movie.

Yeah! I mean for goodness sakes if they can't hold themselves up to the production values of the original series....

Well, they kinda have to use it, don't they? I mean, are they going to destroy the ship again, and have it rebuilt again, except this time in the pre-series-8 fashion?

Besides, if the main drawing factor of "Red Dwarf" for you is what the ship looks like, you have issues.
