I just bought a Sony Clie N610C for $109. It was a display model so that's why Best Buy was selling it for the price I got it. But now I'm trying to figure out what the hell to put in my Clie. Here's the specs for the handheld:

Palm OS 4.0
8MB

Boring but at least I have myself a newly used PDA. So what should I install?

A Clio? Drive it, of course. B)

Anyway, you bought a PDA, but don't know what to do with it? Smart. Did you ask yourself wether you actually needed one first, or were those $109 just burning too big a hole in your pocket?

No, I know what to do with it Cartman. I have my entire current schedule for 2004 on it now and a bloody long to do list with due dates. I'm asking what I should download for it, Palm software-wise.

Besides, I burn my money on Star Trek... like the TNG/DS9 DVD collection.

Well, lessie. I carry a Bible on mine, but that probably doesn't interest you at all... go to download.cnet.com and browse a bit. There's a free Noah Webster dictionary somewhere. Also, hackmaster can be handy. The best hack I ever found was the one that let one of the physical buttons bring up a kind of menu instead of taking you straight to a particular program, called apphack. There's also menuhack, which has actually been integrated into OS5, brings up the menu if you tap the titlebar at the top of the screen.

There's a great big database of holidays you can import into your calendar. I may have found that one at www.palmblvd.com instead of download.com, though. Dig around there, too. The Trivopaedia is also rather cool, even though I hardly use it. The next version (which may be out for all I know) should include a bit by yours truly about flower meanings. There's a program called Filez that lets you navigate and manipulate the actual PalmOS file system and any memory card you happen to have. You can't do that easily otherwise.

Also, go to http://www.benc.hr and download Launcher III. Very nice program. Trueterm is a good translator if such a thing would be of use or interest. And mapopolis is nice as well, but a year or two ago they made the maps un-free. Still, might be handy.

Who's Leslie?

Yes, you're despicable, and... and picable... and... and you're definitely, definitely despicable. How a person can get so despicable in one lifetime is beyond me. It isn't as though I haven't met a lot of people. Goodness knows it isn't that. It isn't just that... it isn't... it's... it's despicable.

Well, I did go to the TSO concert with a rather cute girl two nights ago. But that was likely a one-off thing, and her name's Kari anyway, so there's really no reason for me to mention it here except for the fact that it was vast quantities of fun. [Smile]

I could not imagine anything as unfun as a Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert. Even with a girl named Kari.

Well, unless her last name happened to be Wuhrer. Then it could be fun.
