Some of you may recall this thread in which jelly candies with a piece of fruit in them were banned in Canada.
While going shopping at a local Chinese supermarket, I saw a variation of these candies on sale. Well, they were quite expensive per package, but hey, I miss those things dearly, it has been three years..... *sigh*. Anyway, I bought five bags at $3 apiece (15 pieces in each bag).
YIPPEE!!
So why are these candies back? Are they permanently banned?
Somehow, I think there was a loophole in the candies they banned. Originally, the jelly in those banned candies are made of Konjac. In these candies, the jelly appears to be made of coconut, and it is a lot more softer than Konjac. They also taste the same too.
I'll admit, I stocked up quickly. Because you'll never know when a kid chokes on these and public outrage will spew out all over again....
