Also for the record, the MPAA and RIAA only deal in video and sound recordings. They wouldn't care about pirated software.
Now, the MPAA could possibly care about the TV show I burned to the DVD. But, given that it was initially recorded from a television broadcast (in Britain, no less), and I'm only lending it to someone, not distributing copies, it really ought to fall under fair use, I would think. But, then, it's not like that would stop them.
