Look for "STS-121 Solid Rocket Boosters Videos". I just went through all five, and these are some views I've never seen before. It's pretty incredible.

Just to help out, this is what the different ones contain:
+ Right forward SRB camera (Windows media)
---looks aft, goes from launch all the way to splashdown!
+ Right aft SRB camera (Windows media)
---looks forward, also goes all the way to splashdown
+ Left aft SRB camera (13.7 Mb Quicktime movie)
---looks forward, ends just past SRB separation
+ Left forward SRB camera (13.6 Mb Quicktime movie)
---looks aft, ends just past SRB separation
+ Separation composite view (10 Mb Quicktime movie)
---just a few seconds long of the separation from all four cameras

Especially the Left forward SRB camera, very breath taking view of the Earth.

That was spectacular stuff. The left forward camera does a great spin too, showing the orbiter at one point already pretty far off.

I didn't realise it came off so far up - does the parachute start quite early - other wise it'd burn up wouldn't it?

Remember, re-entry is as much a function of velocity as of altitude. The SRBs were not going quite fast enough to burn up while they were slowing down.
