Aside from a complete OS reload I am running short of options on how to fix this issue:
She has a 256 MB Sandisk Cruzer Mini that she wants to use on this antique, however, whenever she tries to plug it in, it recognizes it as an "Unknown Device". I've downloaded drivers from the Sandisk website, but it too does not work. Is there any way to force it to see the drivers for this device?
Thanks.

I used to have one, the strangest thing is it would only work in the USB ports connected directly at the back of the motherboard and not those "convenience" ones that are connected by a cable to a daughter(?) board at the front of the case.
No idea why *shrug*

We appreciate your concern. It is noted and stupid.

Are you sure it's 98 SE and not plain 98? Plain 98 doesn't do USB or Wifi very well at all.

Yes, I checked. It is Win98SE. It reads her USB laser printer/scanner multifunction just fine.
