The last 2.

No, "music naughtiness" is my way of implying actions of which shall not be named or taken on this board lest one incite the wrath of The Great Bearded One (Fuzzy be thine image).

Eh... I ususally like James Bond themes except for things that aren't grand like Die Another Day, Casino Royale, and View to A Kill. I would have put Goldeneye there but I limited myself to 10 songs.

Die Another Day is the only one I absolutely abhor. Out of ALL of them.

I was skeptical about Chris Cornell's "You Know My Name" for Casino Royale but I found it & gave it a listen & it's pretty good. Also, if you can find "Surrender" by k.d. lang (or ask for it), it was used for the end credits of Tomorrow Never Dies. As much as I love the Sheryl Crow song, k.d.'s would've be a FAR better theme.

I don't even know who did "Die Another Day", it underwhelmed me so.

Madonna.

BTW, Mp3s suck and I almost exclusively listen to lossless, archived music on CD.

For the past week I've been spinning practically nothing but Regina Spektor, whom I might label "the new Bob Dylan," were I prone to such hyperbole. Been listening to some Leonard Cohen, also, and Dylan himself, naturally.

Woot! I love that girl.

I also have most of my music on CD. Maybe when audio-compression encoding is up to my standards, I'll abandon them, but not yet.

Mim, you're probably one of those assholes that insists on FLAC on download sites... Fucking pisses me off. Unless your ears are superhuman, I don't know how you can tell the difference between FLAC and, say, 320 kbps MP3.

Absolutely I am. And I can tell the difference as clearly as night and day. Maybe not at every point in every song, but any time there's supposed to be shimmer in the high end, or echo, or just freaking silence there is a grating bed of noisy artifacts. EVERY TIME, and that's what pisses me off. That and the fact that so many people apparently just don't listen closely enough to hear it.

I notice. For casual listening/background noise, I like the simplicity of my mp3 library, but for serious listening, I always go to my CDs.

I guess I'm just not musicphile-y enough to pick up on such subtle things.

The word is "anal."

I wish I could find more than just 2 song off of regina's first album, 11.11.
