I just thought it was CC's close proximity to many of ye (i.e. same continent) that put the Fear of Trousers into all and sundry, compelling them to spiel on and on about whatever Our Illustrious And Benevolent Overseer deems worthy to discuss.
Living in the back of beyond, His influence over me is somewhat diminished, but like a decreasing exponential, is never truly gone.
