I have saved a WHOLE bunch of JPEG images to disc, (star Trek pics, planet pics, etc.) waiting for that great day in the far future when I can get a laser printer, or display things on a big screen like a picture in a frame.
My mother (retired now, and using most of her spare time finding new and creative ways to make my life difficult) decided to upgrade our netscape, among other things.
SOMEHOW, she managed to reset the JPEG viewing function so that it requires PSP.EXE to display the pictures, rather than the Quicktime Viewer it normally used.
But we don't HAVE PSP. We used to, but it was deleted. So I can't view ANY JPEG's saved to disk now.
She has no idea how she did what she did, and I haven't been able to remember how to fix it and change it back (I had to do that once before, back when we HAD PSP, but I lost the procedure)
HOW do I change it back??

While we're asking stupid questions about graphics viewers, I have one too. Currently, my set-up opens GIF files in IE, rather than Netscape or PSP. How can I change this to one of the preferred viewers? Netscape is my first choice, and PSP is the second. I think I know how to make PSP the primary viewer, but how about Netscape?
I await the answers (along with the inevitable "scathing" comments by people who should know better ).

Ok, here is how I THINK it could work. Correct me if I'm wrong (which I usually am), but I did something similar when my Dad tried uploading MSIE, meaning that my webpages would not be opened in Netscape, which they normally are.
1) In any window, click on the View Tab, and go to Options. 2) In the Options window, there should be a tab called "File Types". 3) The window would show all the file extensions which are in your system and which program which it would be opened with. 4) Find the *.JPEG or *.JPG extension. It should say that it is opened under PSP.exe. If so, delete it. 5) Reopen any JPEG file. A new window would open up. Select the application in which you want to view the file in.
That should be it. I'll be expecting a mail bomb if it doesn't work.

and just do the same thing for the .gif files as well.
