The YF-23 wasn't as agile as the YF-22, but it was more stealthy. One of the concessions to stealth (and partly as a cost- and weight-saving measure) the YF-23 did not have thrust vectoring. While at least as maneuverable and agile as the smaller F-15, the YF-23 was not as agile as the YF-22. This was one of the deciding factors that prompted the AF to order it's rival.
As far as how the plane looks, I think "Black Widow II" was an appropriate moniker. It's a "prettier" plane than the F-22, but pretty doesn't shoot down enemy planes.
