Sigh....I hate to agree but, some observers might be a good idea at this point.
Making my fellow Floridians seem.....unseemly.

I must be missing something. I mean, I didn't watch the whole hour, but the only thing I saw about the US election was a rather boring piece on how both sides are using scare tactics in their ads, and how it's been that way since the '60s.

Actually lots of international observers.
Surprisingly there are only about 85 official observers who were sent over from Europe.

International observers to warrant democratic integrity in a country that likes to portray itself as the birthplace of democracy and the values it was founded upon as the next best thing to Jesus.

Actually, it's just occurred to me there's a downside to that wager - I'd have to bet on Dubya. And whenever I take the devil's advocate's side of a gamble, I always win.
Case in point: the Euro 2000 final. Me and a best mate watched it in a pub in Soho; my friend, an Anglo-Italian, was desperate to have a bet on Italy. I figured, yes, France are the World Champions, but the Italians have a knack for pulling it all together after about 85 minutes of prima-donnery. And it was only a tenner, we were spending a lot more than that on beer that night, so I thought what the heck. Result: he's gutted, I'm ten quid richer, and we went out for sushi.
