You know, it could be, because Mr Whittington hoestly believes it was accident, that he feels some coopability over this? 'standing too close to him? should be to his back, next to his back to provide situation awareness, perhaps?'
point being is that i don't know all the proper safety measures to take when you go hunting, like that. Perhaps he honestly feels The VP's proverbial pain?

He was wearing an orange hunting vest, and got shot in the face and chest (albeit a little obliquely). I'm more inclined to say Cheney doesn't know how to use a boom-stick properly.

"My family and I are deeply sorry for everything Vice President Cheney and his family have had to deal with," Whittington said, his voice a bit raspy but strong.
In Mr. Chenneys televised interview on Republican State Television, um, Fox News, he never says the word sorry.
Sorry is apparently not in the vocabulary of the current administration. I imagine theyve had it blacked it out in all dictionaries in the executive branch.
I was either reading or listening to the news when some commentator got it just about right in saying that the administration does not feel that they have to answer to anyone apparently at any level. From what I understand about this shooting incident, they would not let the sheriffs deputy in to interview the Vice President when he arrived at the scene.

I hate it when People in the government use thier positions influence to subvert the laws of the country they claim to serve. Cheney should have been brought up on negligence charges. Any other regular person would have. But no! Just cuz he's the Vice President. He doesn't have to pay for his mistakes.

I bet Whittington doesn't call him an asshole to his face again though.

Probably not. Getting shot in the face by Cheney once is most likely one too many times for him.

Fuck! No one ever apologizes to me when I shoot them! No one ever runs interference when the deputy wants to "interview" me...
...of course, I'm a better shot.

Just wait until you're the Vice President, then you can shoot whoever you want and get nothing in the way of punishment.
