Of course, that's no reason not to rail against rampant corruption and the ever growing divinde betweem the wealthy and the very poor.
While the word "Socialism" has -via the press- become something of a dirty word, consider that government regulation is (and always has been) the tool to leverage oppourtunities for financial and social advancment.
That's what the Antitrust Laws were made for- a spirit now lost by the endless mergers and buy-outs of small business' by mega-corporations.
This nonsense of "too big to fail" is eactly the mentality dreamed of by the robber-barrons of yesteryear....though today's gains are being reaped by many of the same wealthy families.
When public monies go to private companies or secular organizations everyone loses.
Our system of compitition is far better realized by thousands of small stores competing for consumer dollars than four or five "big-box" stores owning a majority stake of a market: it's only a matter of time before a trade war with China leads to seriously higher prices on all imports. Then we'll be bailing out Wal-Mart as "too big to fail".
