Although if the above were true, why did God instruct Noah to take "food animals" aboard the Ark?
The Bibble does have some interesting dietary restrictions on types of meat that can and cannot be eaten. Only mammals with both cleft hooves AND an ability to chew the cud could be eaten. You were allowed no pigs, rabbits, or any seafood that isn't fish, plus only a few food birds. Birds of prey, such as bats, (at least, in Deuterotomy the bats are somewhat anomalously grouped with birds - this may be faulty science) could not be eaten.
