Now that the campaign is heating up...

*sees if he can name the corporate logos*

(L to R)
Top: GM, Camel, Oxy, McChucks
Mid: ???? , Disney, General Electric, Nike
Bottom: Citigroup, ???, ???, Coca Cola

Funny how Microsoft, Viacom or AOLTimeWarner didn't make it...

"...I was just up in Canada, Toronto actually. You know, they really hate you guys [Americans] up there? The funny thing is, they think you hate them back, when in fact, you just couldn't be bothered to care. Now in Ireland, it's a different story. At least we had the common decency to wait until the English invaded before we started hating them. I guess the Canadians are hating you in advance..."

I don't mind that flag. It's better than the one now, with little stars like the ones they give you in kindergarden when you do something good.

Say, a similar "E" appears on this US Pepsi bottle I have... The company is Elektra, but the logo on the bottle is solid and has a lowercase "e" above it. This is on a 710 mL (24 fl. oz.) bottle, BTW.

"The Social system based on individual rights"????

*stumped*

Okay, so it says that it is used in the Broader political sense than the Economic one. So it is saying that it does not necessarily mean greed at the expense of everything else. I'll take that statement.

But what is that goddamned "$" sign doing floating around my browser?

This is an interesting site. I'll be sure to look at it.

Found this in a FAQ about guns:

"Yet, this is what opponents to the right to own a gun are really against: the right to life."

I humbly disagree. I would say that both sides of the gun control table have some good points. The ones for it want to live in society without having a fear that he/she will run into someone who has a shotgun and blow their brains out.

The other side says that a gun is necessary to protect that right to life, though self defense and all that mumbo jumbo.

So let's just say that both sides have a point. Both want to protect the right to life. Just don't say that one actually wants to destroy it.

Like the old GeoCities floating logo. Cute, though. I might use it myself sometime.

The site actually quotes a lot of Thomas Jefferson's writings about Capitalism. The political foundations of Capitalism are just essentially democracy, as the relationship is today.

Well, I was sort of hoping that someone might follow the link at the bottom of the page and note how American democracy seems to be going to the highest contributor.

It's amazing to be in Los Angeles and watch all the hoops that the city council and the LAPD are going through to make sure that the Democratic National Convention goers don't even see a protester...or homless fellow...or any average schmoe.

The city has gone so far as to remove mail boxes from around Staples Center for like a 4 or 5 block radius...they are now going to remove trees and schrubs from the area. Cause they might be burned or something like that. Although I doubt that they will remove the Flaming Alaska or take plants out of the lobby from the Microsoft/Pepsi/General Moters/Exxon before convention party over at the Bonavemture.

That "E" is from the commercial with everyone asking "Why?"

I've never understood corporate commercials. Cargill, Inc., which I'm related to by my last name (Cargill) had a few commercials on a year ago. The Company is the largest domestic wheat tiller/factor and the commercial involved a man blowing out candles on a birthday cake. I just don't get it ...

A scene that was cut from last season's "Rock" episode, Tsumkatse:
Rock: Do ya smell what the Rock's cookin'?
Janeway: Mr. Rock, was that you?
Tuvok: An intriguing smell ...
