Just to check, we are talking about Operating Systems here, aren't we?
-------------------- Yes, you're despicable, and... and picable... and... and you're definitely, definitely despicable. How a person can get so despicable in one lifetime is beyond me. It isn't as though I haven't met a lot of people. Goodness knows it isn't that. It isn't just that... it isn't... it's... it's despicable.

Heh... After his own post mentioning the "Star Wars" forum, I realized that Bernd was talking about a certain "Star Wars" website that hosts a forum that's specifically devoted to "Trek vs. Wars." Bernd and I recently had a near-flame war start because of some members of the Subspace Comms Network were going over there and started arguing for Trek, which subsequently got nasty. (I read the thread in question, and it was IMO the Warsies who were starting the flames.)
I read this thread immediately after coming from the "Post your desktop" thread, and being in my OS mindset, I assumed that Bernd was commenting on the developing argument there.
My bad.

Oh, so the parable thingy was analogous to Trek vs. Starwars? Makes sense, then. Just as well someone mentioned that because I was thinking that that story was supposed to be analogous to the science vs. creationism debate and was about to decompose it with vigour.

I thought it was analogous to the "Enterprise-class vs Constitution-class" argument myself.
