For all the lives we could have saved and/or improved, if the time, energy, and money that was spent on the catastraphy known as Voyager was instead put into humanitarian uses.

Yes, you didn't like Star Trek: Voyager. So did a lot of people in this community. However, I enjoyed it. I think that it was a good television series. It entertained me, and it held my interest from the beginning to the end. As a Star Trek series, I definitely do not think that it was the strongest of the four series, but I think that it did a fairly good job as a Trek series. Yeah, there were problems with it, but every other Trek series has had them, too. Heck, almost every non-Trek series has problems as well.

Now, if you will excuse me, I'm going to try and improve some people's lives today.

An interesting opening for a thread. Yes, I also ENJOYED various parts of the show and thought the finale was done very nicely thank you.

And, you know, if you're going to do a thread like this, you could at least have gone through the effort to spell "catastrophe" correctly.

I'd agree that Voyager was a catastrophe.

And I'd bet that "Enterprise" will end up as one too, with its threat of continuity and horrible writing.

Every Trek series had continuity problems...some more obvious than others. But I still watched all of them and will watch Enterprise when it comes out.

In similar fashion, all money spent in/on pro sports, movies, toy manufacturers, books, cd's etc. could have been saved for 'charity'.

I can think of several, including some who were canceled due to not being given a chance or not fitting in with the "new vision" of the network.

I believe what Wes meant when he said "When you make a better television series..." was that the you was referring to the person who posted the message. Or am I wrong?

Voyager was good! Compared ot the older series, it was quite ok. Especially the quality of the episodes. no I don't mean the plot, I mean the look of every episode.. the older series had whitish colors on the screen. Voyager was more modernize. I enjoyed it very much. Especially borgs, they rock!

By bullshit, I meant:

I'm tired of the Voyager bashing. Sure there were bad episodes, but there's a reason it lasted for seven seasons.

I think theres some major opinion conformity going on here.

When I see a series better then voyager created by David Templar, I'll show him some resepect.

"...it was quite ok. Especially the quality of the episodes. no I don't mean the plot, I mean the look of every episode.."

No wonder television is shite these days. People don't even care about plots anymore! They don't want something to stimulate their mind, just something to stimulate their eyes.

If you want something that has no plot, but looks good, try pornography. It's the epitome of plot-lacking. And, as a bonus, people don't think you're a pervert if you jerk off to it.

Damn, the people on this board are so down on Voyager! I mean I don't think it was my favorite aspect of the Trek saga, but I liked it fine. Admittedly, They had their share of bad episodes (i.e. 'Threshold'), but so has every other series. They have also had quite a few stories that I thought were done very well (e.g. 'Equinox I&II', 'Year of Hell I&II', 'Basics I&II').

What was wrong with the series? Was it the characters? The actors playing the characters? The ships? The continuity errors? ALL of the stories? I want to know what specifically you all hated so much. Maybe I oughtta move it over to the flameboard...

I, myself, would prefer a moment of silence for, to paraphrase:

all the lives we could have saved and/or improved, if the time and energy that was spent on "Voyager-bashing" (surely, from the opinions I've seen, MUCH more time and energy than was spent on the show itself) was instead put into humanitarian uses.

The whiners could have saved the world.
