From an episode in the Final Chapter, it is revealed that Odo was infected with the disease when him and Sisko was on Earth during the events of "Homefront" and "Paradise Lost".

Here is the possible plot thread. I say POSSIBLE because I got this from a friend of mine who got it from someone else. To me, this sort of makes quite a lot of sense.

Remember the Former Admiral Leyton? At the end of that two parter, he was supposed to be charged with treason. In fact, he was never even arrested. Why? Admiral Leyton is the head of Section 31. Of course, he was the mastermind behind the Changeling Paranoia, and he was the only person, other than Sisko who was close enough to infect Odo without anyone else knowing about it.

Comments?

That certainly sounds reasonable.

Wasn't it Leyton who requested that Odo come to Earth in person?

The theory is good, in fact, great, but I doubt that the writers will work it in.

Me: Oh, I agree. I think they're spending too much time together, that is of course, if you catch my drift.
Asher: I think he's *ucking her, and he's cheating on his wife, and he's risking his marriage, and if his wife finds out about it she'll leave him and take their son, and his life will be ruined. If you catch my drift...

Um, wasn't Leyton a changeling?

Maybe this could be introduced in "Extreme Measures"... Here's hoping!
