The First One

I have an idea for a movie. One that takes place after "What You Leave Behind" - in other words, not "In The Beginning" (a prequel) nor "Thirdspace" (set in the middle sometime), but what will hopefully be "River of Souls" meets "A Call to Arms," only not sucking in the process. 8)
I have the enemy worked out, I have the McGuffin worked out. I'm right now trying to figure out how to get every one back. Sisko is easy, as are most of the others. Odo I'm still working on, and Jake remains a bit vague. There's only going to be one person missing. . .
No Worf. I'm not going to give away where he is - this is intended to be a no-spoiler thread - but there are several very good reasons why he's not there. Fist of all, this has to work as a standalone event. The non-Trek fan may wonder why he's in both kinds of film. Next, a related point: bringing him inot the next TNG movie may be stretching credibility enough. Lastly, DS9 managed three years without him, and there's just not enough for him to do.
I'd like to do a proper treatment of this idea. Most likely as an actual screenplay, because I've always wanted to try one. So I'll be revealing a bit more once I have everything in place and can try to protect what I've done. Apologies if that sounds paranoid. . .

You're not being paranoid at all, Lee. *glances oevr shoulder* I can understand. *glances in other direction* I can perfectly understand. *looks back and forth warily*
But seriously, if you can pull it off: fantastic!

You are right about Worf. Anything more than a cameo would stretch things a bit. I do know a place where you could get a lot of support for bringing Kirk back, right Elim?
