With a brave attempt to bring some new life to this board I present to you the following interesting fact:
Worf's son was born in 2366 according to v. 2 of the encyclopedia, yet we see him onboard Martok's BoP during the Dominion wars which are around 2374... so he would be between 8 and 10 years old at the time! Since when does the Klingon Empire allow infants to be warriors and let them work on starships?! And how can a 10-year old know about "he's leaking plasma from his starboard nacelle" does he even understand what he said in that episode?

The Trek explanation seems to be that the children of every other species in the Galaxy grow up alot faster than humans. Every child we've ever seen on any Trek series has developed at like 3 times what they should except for Jake Sisko.
Keiko must be half Terrelian or something cause Molly shot right up too.

Yes, except for infant molly. Then all of a sudden Hannah jumps in and is already acting like a 4 or 5 year old less than 3 years after her birth. I guess it wasn't that bad. Ensign Wildman's daughter on Voyager bothers me more, but I like the character.

Naomi Wildman is an interesting character. She is like Wesley Crusher, but a girl and very popular with the fans. I guess the producers learned their lesson with Wesley when they created Naomi's character.

Well, the fact that Naomi doesn't know more about the ship's functions than the chief engineer already makes her a better character than Wesley (who hasn't been a better character than Wesley?)
Naomi was a natural development of the isolation of the crew and from that aspect I think she works. She is also not a main character nor is her position as "Captain's Assistant" an official Starfleet rank. These facts make her more believeable in such a hazardous environment.
