Does anyone know a DS9 novel with at least decent combat scenes? I just flipped through one with 3 Jem'Hadar fighters pulverizing a Nebula class in under 60 seconds, without getting hit, too. It seems that the only ship that ever survives any form of combat in DS9 novels is the Defiant, even GCS are cannon fodders. We're all free of the super ship Defiant syndromn, but it seems those damn novelists are never going to be.

It's not ship-to-ship for the most part, but the descriptions of combat with the Bekkir in 'Fallen Heroes' are quite good.

"Batter up".

To date, I have yet to read a Trek novel with really *good* ship-to-ship combat. Of the selection I've read, Peter David's "Vendetta" (A TNG novel) is the best I've read. In fanfic, the best I've read is this one:

Look for "The Dream of Life". The author doesn't always suit his ship types properly to their roles, but the descriptions of combat are very enjoyable to read.

Hey that fanfic guy's pretty good. He's got some technical term issues and spelling problems, but very good otherwise.
