Author Topic: TOS - Season 4 and 5 PsyLiam Hungry for you Member # 73 posted                       There is also the issue of respect, y'know. When they did that Futurama episode of Star Trek, Bones stayed silent throughout, rather than having someone doing an impression of his voice. I also don't think you could write TOS now. The style of dialogue, nature of the stories, and whatnot are far too primitive for TV today. There's also the fact that the original cast would demand roughly 7 billion dollars an episode too. -------------------- Yes, you're despicable, and... and picable... and... and you're definitely, definitely despicable. How a person can get so despicable in one lifetime is beyond me. It isn't as though I haven't met a lot of people. Goodness knows it isn't that. It isn't just that... it isn't... it's... it's despicable. The best of the episodes are not outdated. Oh sure, there are some cultural references and stylistic things you wouldn't want to replicate, but there's nothing inherantly out of date about stories like "The Doomsday Machine" or "Balance of Terror" or even "The Trouble With Tribbles". And no one would suggest making a modern "Spock's Brain"... One is a clipshow, and thus very boring. One is intensely silly. But it isn't "Shades of Gray"'s fault that it is boring. That is almost inherint in the medium.
