Hi fellow trekkers! I was just wondering how much control and power if any do Shatner, Nimoy and Stewart, Spiner have over the star trek franchises if any? Just wondering and thanks

Um, my guess would be "zip", "zero", "zilch", and "nada" respectively. At least as far as the current production is concerned, seeing as how they're all retired and not acting for Trek anymore.

More specifically, the only things hey have control over would be:
--Use of their likenesses in products and advertising (depends on how their contacts read)
--And if they were approached by Paramount to do any more Trek, they might make some creative control of that project part of their contract
That's about it!

Anyway I recall reading, and for that matter posting, that Shatner was interesting in playing a part in Enterprise as one of Jim Kirks forefathers if it was [acceptably] written.
Seeing if that ever happens it would likely be at the whim of the writers rather than any power Shatner wields. Nevertheless if the part was crap he wouldn't appear, then again, if he didn't offer to play the part they wouldn't have wrote (hypothetically speaking) the part for him at all.
Same goes with TNG cast; they don't want to be in another movie then no more movies - at least with Data and Picard.

It's not necessarily circular -- it just depends on who's initiating the deal in certain circumstances.
The ONLY way Shatner (for example) would have control would be to (1) either accept or decline his appearance, or (2) pitch a story idea to the writers, which they would probably then alter to fit their own plans. That's it.
