Am I the *only* one who thinks that they need to wait atleast 5 years before they smack us with another series? I've got the impression that they are creating a show just because they need a replacement. That's not a reason for making a good Startrek series. I say wait, plan, go through the motions and then make a good quality trek(not that the last ones haven't been).
Oh, and get rid of Bragga, he seems to cause trouble.

You're not the only one. I think it is a wise choice to give it a rest. Interessting to know is that they said the same thing when TNG ended and DS9 was about to be the only show...

Star trek needs a rest, at least three years may be more. I have been whatching star trek for like the last 12 straight. The writers need to freshen up the serise, but more importantly they need to have the viewers want a new Trek just not a replacement or a make up for Voyager.

If they keep this up, Star Trek will be exhausted. They need to give it a rest, and get rid of the trouble between the crew (the writers, producers). Think out the next series carefully.

Well the way I see it, the unless Paramount kills it, the production staff won't give it a break otherwise they'd be out of a job.

I don't know that the issue is time off. I think everybody wants a break because we all feel like the creativity has sucked a little dry in the franchise of late.
If the producers can resolve the staff problems and way can be found to come up with a good premise with quality writing and people commited to coming out with a good show, I don't care if it happens next month or next year. The quality is what's needed, not necessarily the time. However, time may be exactly what's needed to get these things back.

I agree, what I was trying to say was that they shouldn't make another series just because they can, or because they "need" a replacement. I say wait until you can get the quality staff and a good premise down for a storyline. Plot out the first couple of seasons and really give it some thought. I don't want to see a new series made just for the sake of having another series, I would rather wait.

Exactly. Just like I don't want to be on plane that HAS to land, I don't want to see a show that they HAVE to make to keep their jobs or something.
