The thing is, even if they reused those "dustbuster" or "cricket" phasers from season 1, that would have made more sense than the TWOK phasers. Not much more sense, but sense nonetheless.

You know, when I first saw the Dustbuster phaser, I thought it was the smartest thing ever- I thought they had integrated their tricorder into the phaser- having the phaser emitter or medical part as an attachment to the front of the tricorder- which would have complimented the notion that their technology is multirole, like how the deflector can be used for more than pushing crap out of the way.
Then I realized it was just an oversized version of the little cricket phaser with aparantly no greater use.
One day I'll be running the universe and I'll retroactively change that for you...and the women's neckline will plunge somewhat.
KBOP's will be properly scaled and there will be dialogue that clearly states they were designed by the Romulans.
Stuff like that.

The Ent-C uniforms do show a pattern of Starfleet slowly eliminating the high collars over 100-years. We had the movie uniforms with their nice big collars that were apparently expensive to make. Then by the time Picard joined the academy they'd switch to a smaller collar. A bit later they'd eliminated it all together, a trait that was kept when they switched to the TNG uniforms. And then it started to come in again because they'd realised that having no collar is unflatering on anyone with a bit of a turkey neck.
-------------------- Yes, you're despicable, and... and picable... and... and you're definitely, definitely despicable. How a person can get so despicable in one lifetime is beyond me. It isn't as though I haven't met a lot of people. Goodness knows it isn't that. It isn't just that... it isn't... it's... it's despicable.
