The episode itself looked and felt as spectacular as I'd hoped. Much better looking than the season 2 release (which was decent but felt very CGI-y).
I was most impressed with the 30-minute featurette, though. Lots of great stories in there, nice to see retrospectives from some of the cast and crew. The best part was Elizabeth Dennehy quoting back some of her memorized lines 20+ years later, dubbed over the original episode. Hilarious!
After seeing the episode as a two-parter for 20 years, it was a little weird to see it cut together; I'm pretty sure they left out a few seconds from the beginning of part II. The shots between Riker ordering "fire" and the deflector firing were omitted. I wasn't paying close enough attention, I was just enjoying the show! Still, from pure enjoyment, I was surprised how seamlessly the episode cut together. (Aside from Beverly's magical haircut change, of course.)
Rumor mill on TrekCore suggests they might to a similar release (two-episode disc) for Redemption. Hopefully that's going to be the next theater release. I expect they're going to keep up the theatrical releases; this time the theater I was in was at least half full, definitely the best-attended yet. They must be making enough money on these events to continue. (At least, I hope so!)
And in about six days, we'd all better get ready for doing what we do best: poring over Wolf 359 screencaps!

That was fun! I really enjoyed watching that. Too bad they don't advertise it more, I only found out about it by chance.

They've confirmed they're doing the same thing with "Redemption" - well, in terms of cutting it together and releasing it as a separate DVD release. Not sure that's what they'll show in theaters for the season 4 promotion ... which, by the way, has been set for release on July 30.

Redemption doesn't really go together in the same way that BOBW does. The second part picks up quite a bit after the first. Plus it makes the comment at the end of part 1 that states that Worf will be serving on Gowron's ship a bit stupid when it immedietly cuts to Worf serving under Kurn.
-------------------- Yes, you're despicable, and... and picable... and... and you're definitely, definitely despicable. How a person can get so despicable in one lifetime is beyond me. It isn't as though I haven't met a lot of people. Goodness knows it isn't that. It isn't just that... it isn't... it's... it's despicable.
