Well, given the stardates, I prefer to assume that TAS took place at the same time as TOS. But, it isn't canon, anyway, which helps to resolve a couple issues there... :-)
I also like to stretch out TOS over the entire five years, rather than confining it to three. If you squeeze it down like that, you end up w/ even worse stardate problems than it has to begin with. Of course, the problems may be irresolvable to begin with, so it may not matter...
